MEET THE FOUNDER

CLARE MCLOUGHLIN

Hi! I'm Clare, and I have a lifelong love of crafts, every weekend I'm trying new activities, and always on the hunt for a new workshop or kit to try out, trying my hand at everything from drilling to chilli sauce making. This love of trying new things undoubtedly came from the four most important women in my life, my mum, aunties and nan, who are always trying new arts and crafts.

I love discovering small independent businesses providing small workshops, and since the pandemic, the increasingly innovative at home kits and virtual experiences. I want to help other people discover these experiences too. They're such a great way to meet new people, learn new skills and add a bit of fun into your life. 

With my nan now in a care home,  I started thinking, wouldn't it be great if there was a way to share these craft kits with care homes, so they would always have a range of activities which their residents could choose from.

This is where my idea for Seek-a-hobby, Share-a-hobby came from, which led to the start of HobbySeekers. I am super excited about helping people discover new crafts and activities from independent British companies and share their discoveries with care home residents.
